Maze Mechanica privacy policy

In short

Maze Mechanica is an online game against another player, so it needs an account and a connection. That account is a username and a password — nothing else. We never ask for your email address, your name or your phone number, the game shows no third-party ads and uses no analytics or tracking.

The account

You pick a username and a password when you register. We store the username, the password as a one-way hash (we cannot read your password), and your match record: your rating, how many games you have played, and how many you won and lost.

It is a Maze Mechanica account, kept in the studio's database with the other players' — it is not your FishPunk ID, and it does not sign you in to this website or to any other FishPunk game.

If you tick “Remember me”, the username and password are saved in the game's own private storage on your device so it can sign you in next time. Turning it off, or uninstalling the game, removes them.

Playing a match

Matchmaking pairs you with another player of a similar rating, and the two clients then talk to each other for the length of the match. There are two ways that connection can be made:

• directly between the two devices, in which case each device sees the other's IP address, the way any direct connection works;
• through our Supabase server as a relay, in which case the two of you never see each other's addresses, and the server passes the moves on without storing them.

What travels over that connection is the state of the match — positions, scores, which pellets are gone. It is not recorded after the match ends.

The ranking

The in-game ranking screen lists usernames and ratings, so the username you pick is public to other players. Pick one you are happy to be seen under.

What the game does not do

• It does not ask for or store an email address, a real name or a phone number.
• It uses no analytics, crash reporting or advertising identifiers.
• It contains no third-party ad network. The hoardings on the maze walls are our own posters for FishPunk games and sites, shipped inside the game — they load nothing and report nothing.
• It offers no purchases.
• It does not use your camera, microphone, contacts or location.

Deleting your account

Write to us at the address below from the game and say which username to delete, and we will remove the account and its match record. Uninstalling the game removes what is stored on your device, but not the account on the server.

Google Play

If you install Maze Mechanica from Google Play, Google handles the download and may collect information about it under its own privacy policy. We receive only the anonymous, aggregated statistics Google Play gives every developer, such as install counts.

Children

The game is not aimed at children under 13 and collects nothing beyond the account described above from anyone. If a child has registered and you would like the account removed, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

The game is in testing and still changing. If a future version handles personal data differently, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
